What is the Blue Room Guild?

The Blue Room Guild is a new program at our theatre, which allows membership to private parties for the opening weekend of all Main Stage Performances. This has replaced our former program of Season Membership. On the opening Saturday of every show (see dates below), our Guild Members enjoy complimentary appetizers, beer, wine and a signature cocktail that is themed to the show. Suffice to say, they’re a lot of fun and the members are loving it.

Our full season pricing for the Guild is $200 per member.

What if you can’t make it to the show on that Saturday? Not to worry, we make accommodations to ensure that our members get to see the show at a seperate time, or, give them the ability to send other people in their place to the party.

If you have questions you can email Amber, our Managing Director: amber@blueroomtheatre.com

Here is our 2016/2017 season:

THE HOW AND THE WHY

by Sarah Treem

directed by Amanda Detmer

On the eve of a prestigious conference, an up-and coming evolutionary biologist wrestles for the truth with an established leader in the field. This intimate and keenly perceptive play explores evolution and emotion, and the difficult choices faced by women of every generation.

A HEART LAID BARE

BY EDGAR ALLAN POE

A flickering candle, rustling curtain, light tapping at the door, the barely audible sound of human heartbeat somewhere in the darkened room. These are the ingredients of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic tales of terror, frighteningly brought to life in the world premiere of A Heart Laid Bare.

Come to the Blue Room Theatre for a highly theatrical adaptation of The Fall of the House of Usher, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Raven all imagined as a single, interwoven story of spine-tingling horror.

Adapted for the stage and starring Amber Miler, Joe Hilsee, Rob Wilson and Julia Rauter.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

by Charles Dickens

adapted by Roger Montalbano

directed by Amber Miller

The undeniably familiar tale of the spirit of redemption, told in a decidedly gritty and theatrical fashion.

***

directed by Joyce Henderson

Human Error

By Eric Pfeffinger

directed by Erin Tarabini

A liberal couple discovers that their frozen embryo has been mistakenly implanted into the woman of a conservative couple.

GOOD WITH FACES

by Hilary Tellesen

directed by Hilary Tellesen

In this comedic mystery, Dr Viland, an unconventional psychotherapist, has been stabbed to death by one of his patients, and the only witness suffers from facial blindness and cannot identify the suspect. At his funeral, five of his patients labor their emotional liberation from his mysterious death.

THE FAITH HEALER

by Brian Friel

directed by Joe Hilsee

In this darkly lyrical tale of a traveling faith healer roaming through Scotland and Wales with his wife and his manager, the author has created a metaphorical portrait of the artist as both creator and destroyer. Featuring Bill Johnson, Cynthia Lammel and Jerry Miller.

FRESH INK

by four local writers

The sixteenth annual installment of the Blue Room’s own celebration of theatrical creativity! Four writers are given one week to write a fifteen minute play which must include a specific list of items and occurrences. Four crews each get one week to bring the creation to life – while the ink is still fresh!
